Supporting the National Multiple Sclerosis Society since January 2010

Multiple Sclerosis is a disease in which the protective myelin sheath around the brain and spinal cord are damaged.  This “multiple scarring” affects the ability of the nerve cells to communicate with each other, which can lead to a wide range of neurological symptoms.  MS can take several forms, where new symptoms can occur in either discrete attacks (relapsing forms) or accumulating attacks (progressive forms).  Between attacks, symptoms may subside partially or completely, but permanent neurological problems often result.

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society exists to fight MS, and to assist those living with MS.  They fund medical research activities aiming to find a cure for MS or alleviate symptoms.  The primary goal of Next Steps is to raise funds to support the NMSS, either through direct donations or fundraising activities.  All net proceeds generated from these activities will be donated directly to the NMSS.
